தீப ஆராதனை செய்து இனிப்பான பலகாரங்களைப் படைப்பர். பின்னர் கலசத்தில் வைத்த மஞ்சள் சரட்டை விரதமிருந்தவர் கையில் கட்டுவர். பின்னர் படைக்கப்பட்ட பொருட்களுடன் தாம்பூலம், மஞ்சள், புடவை போன்றவற்றை சுமங்கலிகளுக்கு தானமாகக் கொடுத்து ஆசி பெற்று காலை முதல் உண்ணாநோன்பிருந்ததை முறித்து தாமும் உண்டு விரதத்தை நிறைவேற்றுவர்.

அன்று முழுவதும் அஷ்டலட்சுமி தோத்திரம், லலிதா சகஸ்ரநாமம் பாராயணம் செய்வர். மாலை வேளைகளில் உற்றார்,சுற்றார் வீடுகளுக்குச் சென்று ஒருவருக்கொருவர் தாம்பூலம் பெற்றுக்கொள்வர்.

यह व्रत राधा अष्टमी (भाद्रपद शुक्ल अष्टमी) से प्रारम्भ होकर आशिवन मास की कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी तक चलता है| इस दिन लक्ष्मी जी की पूजन का विधान है|

विधि:

लक्ष्मी जी की मूर्ति को स्नान कराकर नए वस्त्र पहनाये जाते हैं| फिर लक्ष्मी जी को भोग लगाकर और आचमन कराकर फूल, दीप, धूप, चन्दन आदि से आरती करते हैं|

એક ગામમાં એક બાપુ રહેતા હતા. બાપુ રોજ ગામવાળાની મોઢે પોતાની બહાદૂરીની ખોટી વાતો કર્યા કરતા. એકિદવસ બાપુ આરામથી બેઠા હતા ત્યાં એક માણસ દોડતો દોડતો આવ્યોમાણસ : બાપુ બચાવો...ગામની બહાર એક િસંહ આવ્યો છે.બાપુ : ગામની બહાર છે ને..અંદર તો નથી આવ્યો ને. જા અંદર આવે તો મને કહેજે.થોડીવાર પછી માણસ પાછો દોડતો દોડતો આવ્યોમાણસ : બાપુ બચાવો...િસંહ ગામના પાદરમાં આવી ગયો છે.બાપુ : ગામના પાદરમા છે ને..ચોકમાં તો નથી આવ્યો ને.જા ચોકમાં આવે તો મને કહેજે.થોડીવાર પછી માણસ પાછો દોડતો દોડતો આવ્યોમાણસ : બાપુ હવે તો બચાવો...િસંહ ગામના ચોકમાં આવી ગયો છે.બાપુ : ઠીક.. હવે તો મારે જાવુ જ પડશે.બાપુ ઉભા થઇ ચોકમાં આવ્યા ને જોયુ તો િસંહ આરામથી ઉભો હતો.બાપુ : એય સાવજ..તારી મા ને ચોદે ભાગ અહીથી નહીતર મારી નાખીશ.િસંહે સામે ત્રાડ પાડી એટલે બાપુએ વાંકા વળી જોડા પગમાંથી કાઢી હાથમા લઇ લીધા અને રાડ પાડી : એ ભાગોચોદીનાવ...આ િસંહ તો બેહરો છે.!!!!!

એકવાર એક સરકસવાળાને વાંદરાઓની જરૂર પડી એટલે તે એક િશકારી પાસે ગયો. િશકારી : ભલે હુ તમને વાંદરાપકડી આપીશ પણ એક વાંદરાના ૧૫૦૦ રૂપીયા થશે. ૫૦૦ મારા, ૫૦૦ મારા કૂતરાના અને ૫૦૦ મારા સહાયકના.સરકસવાળો : ભલે પરંતુ હુ જોવા માટે સાથે આવીશ.બીજા િદવસે બધા જંગલમાં ગયા. િશકારીનો સહાયક બંદૂક લઇને એક ઝાડ પાછળ ગોઠવાઇ ગયો. િશકારી એક ઝાડઉપર ધીમેથી ચડી ગયો અને જોરથી ઝાડની ડાળી હલાવી. એક વાંદરો નીચે પડયો એટલે તરત િશકારીનો કૂતરાએદોડીને વાંદરાના ગોલીયામા બટકુ ભરી લીધુ. વાંદરો બેભાન થઇ ગયો એટલે િશકારીએ તેને પાંજરામા પુરી દીધો.સરકસવાળો : ભાઇ હુ તને ૧૫૦૦ નહી આપુ ૧૦૦૦ જ આપીશ. તુ વાંદરાને નીચે પછાડશ અને તારો કૂતરો એનેબટકુ ભરી બેભાન કરે છે. આ તારો સહાયક તો કાઇ કરતો નથીં.િશકારી : એવુ નથી...કોક િદવસ વાંદરાની બદલે હુ નીચે પડી જાવ તો કૂતરો મારા ગોલીયા ન તોડી લે તે માટે કૂતરાનેગોળી મારવાનુ કામ તેનુ છ
